Curriculum Overview
Providence Christian Academy provides a Christ-centered education that cultivates students’ spiritual, academic, and social development. From Pre-K through high school, students are taught to recognize their identity in Christ and to pursue learning as a way to glorify God. Our curriculum is designed to build both knowledge and character, emphasizing mastery, discipline, and biblical truth across all subject areas.

We believe education is most effective when it is structured, age-appropriate, and rooted in traditional methods that have stood the test of time. Through hands-on learning experiences, foundational skill-building, and rigorous instruction, our students develop confidence, clarity in communication, and a deepening sense of purpose. In many cases, our students perform above grade level when compared to their public school peers, a reflection of both the curriculum in place and the consistent support of their families.
Lower School (Pre-K–Grade 5)
In the elementary years, Providence Christian Academy uses the Abeka curriculum extensively. Known for its traditional, biblically based approach and high academic standards, Abeka provides students with a strong foundation in phonics, reading fluency, mathematics, grammar, writing, and biblical instruction. Emphasis is placed on neatness, accuracy, and responsibility, all of which are reinforced across subjects and throughout daily routines. Teachers provide structure and encouragement as students build the habits necessary for long-term academic success.
Upper School (Grades 6–12)
Our Upper School consists of middle and high school programs that integrate the strengths of both BJU Press and Abeka curricula, offering students a rigorous and balanced academic experience rooted in Christian values. These years emphasize critical thinking, clear expression, personal responsibility, and discernment. Students engage in courses that challenge them to think biblically about culture, history, and science, while developing skills in mathematics, language, and communication that will serve them in college and life.

As students progress, other board-approved curriculum materials may be incorporated to enhance instruction. This allows us to maintain high standards and expand learning opportunities while remaining aligned with our mission.
