The Lower School at Providence Christian Academy is where students lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning and success. Serving students in Kindergarten 5 through grade 5, our program is rooted in traditional education principles that emphasize back-to-basics academics, high expectations, and character development. With just one class per grade level, every student benefits from a close, supportive community where teachers know their strengths, encourage their growth, and celebrate their achievements.

Our approach to education is tried, trusted, and true. Each day begins with prayer and Bible study, grounding students in God’s Word and setting a tone of faith and focus for the day. Weekly chapel services and Scripture memorization further nurture their spiritual growth, helping students internalize biblical truths that guide their hearts and minds. Academically, students develop strong reading and writing skills through a phonics-based program that builds fluency and comprehension, while foundational math instruction focuses on mastering core concepts like arithmetic, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. Lessons are designed to challenge students to think critically, apply their knowledge, and build confidence in their abilities.

Our Lower School program nurtures students into developing productive study habits that complement their classroom learning. Age-appropriate assignments are thoughtfully designed to reinforce key concepts and encourage responsibility. For younger students, these tasks are simple and engaging, laying the groundwork for independent learning. As students progress through the grades, the level of outside work evolves to match their growing capabilities, fostering time management and critical thinking skills in a way that supports their academic and personal development.
